Description: #Festivals are like glittering lights that brighten up our lives with happiness and positivity.” India is a land of festivals which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and brotherhood. Baisakhi is one of them . It is one of the prime festivals of the Hindus and the Sikhs. It is celebrated to mark the harvesting of the first summer crop, mostly wheat. It is celebrated in the month of April every year. The formation of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Govind Singh in the year of 1699 is commemorated by celebrating Baisakhi. The idea at the core of this festival is to pray, socialize, and enjoy good food. People are joyful and excited on this day. Baisakhi has a dedication for spreading harmony, peace, and love and to socialize within the community and outside of the community. #Little_Scholars took the initiative to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi in order to bring awareness about the establishment of Khalsa and it’s true meaning among the children. Students of class 12- Commerce and Humanities hoisted the morning assembly in the school auditorium based on the theme’ Baisakhi'. The assembly was conducted and anchored by Manshi Belwal. The theme was put forth in the form of a small discussion followed by a quiz round conducted by Shifa Khan . Dance ‘ The sole of festivals’. Festivals are all about happiness and joy and this happiness is often expressed through dance. The festival of Baisakhi is always celebrated with an essence of the dance form ‘Giddha’. The girls of class 12-( Swati Arya , Ritika Chand , Mansi Sharma , Ritika Pandey, Arshpreet Kaur , Avani Sharma, Ritu Bisht , Aakrati Kalra) performed a special Giddha to complete the celebration of Baisakhi. The dance performance was a wonderful representation of the Punjabi culture. This assembly was end up with an inspiring speech by our respected principal ma’am Mrs. Shikha Gautam. Her words of wisdom motivated the kids to take up new challenges positively in life.
